What You’ll Do

  • Build, implement, and enforce standardized processes, work methods, and operating procedures across all manufacturing areas.
  • Establish labor standards, staffing models, capacity plans, and workflow expectations to meet production goals.
  • Set clear expectations for takt time, scheduling accuracy, shift execution, and department handoffs.
  • Oversee resource planning, labor allocation, equipment utilization, and shift structure.
  • Ensure daily operations align with company performance metrics and strategic objectives.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly performance reviews with operational leaders.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented, verified, and sustained.
  • Oversee the entire Quality function
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and internal safety standards.
  • Partner with HR and supervisors to maintain required training and documentation.
  • Oversee labor planning, overtime strategy, cross-training, attendance expectations, and labor allocation.
  • Ensure supervisors and leads apply performance standards consistently.
  • Develop skills matrices, certification requirements, and operator qualification standards.
  • Lead Lean initiatives, 5S, waste reduction, standardized work, and process consistency efforts.
  • Support automation, process upgrades, and technology implementation.
  • Partner with Engineering, CNC Programming, and NPI teams to ensure process readiness for new products.
  • Work with Supply Chain to maintain material availability, inventory accuracy, and flow.
  • Collaborate with HR on staffing, performance, training, and corrective action.
  • Lead Operations Managers, Quality Manager, Supervisors, and functional leads.
  • Support coaching, talent development, succession planning, and performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture built on communication, ownership, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in manufacturing operations; machining or metal manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading both operations and quality teams.
  • Proven success implementing KPIs, labor standards, process controls, and CI initiatives.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of CNC machining, finishing, and overall manufacturing flow.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, GD&T, metrology, inspection methods, and root cause tools.
  • Ability to develop and manage KPI dashboards and performance systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools.

Work Environment

  • Regular presence on the production floor; exposure to noise, equipment, and industrial conditions.
  • PPE required in designated areas.
  • Frequent walking/standing; occasional lifting up to 45 lbs.
  • Occasional travel to customers, suppliers, or corporate locations.

Pay Range

A reasonable estimate of the salary pay range for this role is $160,000- $180,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
